Girls Night Out “Teal & Tango” Raised Funds & Awareness for

H.O.W. Hearing the Ovarian Cancer Whisper

PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL- (September 26, 2017) In honor of National Ovarian Cancer Awareness month, and to help bring awareness to this disease, H.O.W.- Hearing the Ovarian Cancer Whisper hosted the 6th annual "Teal & Tango" a girls' night out on September 25, 2017, at The Gardens Mall, Bloomingdale's Court.

Over 100 guests attended this exciting "Teal & Tango" event where they enjoyed delicious hors d'oeuvres and drinks, and shopping with Tory Burch, Kendra Scott, Macy’s, Nespresso and NYX Professional Makeup. There were also unique silent auction items, goody bags and entertainment.

Patricia O’Connell, a Florida native and young H.O.W. patient advocate, shared here powerful story of persistence, strength and determination.  This courageous mother of three inspired all of those in attendance, and in partnership with H.O.W., Patricia plans on sharing her story and advocate for women across the world to listen to their bodies and educate themselves on hearing the “whispers” of ovarian cancer.

"We are very grateful for all of our sponsors, donors and guests who made this an enjoyable and successful event," said Alexa Bartusiak, H.O.W. program coordinator. "There are many components that make H.O.W.  an organization that has a lasting effect on the community.  H.O.W.  funds research in ovarian cancer, presents educational programs concerning the recent advances being made in ovarian cancer, funds medical students interested in gynecologic oncology and helps local women with ovarian cancer in financial need through the Jacquie Liggett Angel Fund."

Sponsors included: The Gardens Mall, Wilmington Trust, Gulfstream Media Group and Bluewater Babes Charitable Trust.

Proceeds benefitted H.O.W. - Hearing the Ovarian Cancer Whisper.

H.O.W. - Hearing the Ovarian Cancer Whisper raises money to support basic or translational research in ovarian cancer through the Jacquie Liggett Research Fellowship. Women with ovarian cancer experiencing financial need are helped through the Jacquie Liggett Angel Fund.  H.O.W. is dedicated to promoting awareness and recent advances in ovarian cancer by presenting educational programs to women primarily in our area. H.O.W. also provides scholarships to medical students interested in gynecologic oncology by working with a Gynecologic Oncologist during their elective time in medical school through the Dr. Robert C. Knapp Medical Student Award. For more information please call (561) 406.2109 or visit www.howflorida.org.
